Me, now a mom
Me, now a mom
My mom said she knew from the time I was a toddler that I would be an artist. I was constantly doodling on church bulletins and Art class in elementary school was the absolute highlight of my week. Creativity has always been my calling.
I grew up in Northern Indiana, where the sun ceased to shine from October until May. My family and I escaped the monotony and grey slush of winter by visiting sunny places across the US. It was during these travels that I fell in love with the vast nothingness and blue skies of the American Southwest, and the glorious Art Deco colors and lines of Miami Beach. These destinations became my inspiration, fueling my creativity throughout my teenage years. I took thousands of photos and spent countless hours editing them for my own enjoyment.
After high school, I attended Purdue University and graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Computer Graphics Technology and a minor in Art & Design. I worked as a graphic designer on a marketing team at Purdue University until 2016 when my husband and I got married and moved to Central Indiana. I then joined the marketing team at Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana as a graphic designer. Talk about kismet -- thrifting is life!
My dream of becoming a mom came true in 2019 with the birth of my beautiful baby girl. I began doing freelance marketing and design from home while caring for my sweet daughter full time.
Over the past several years I have developed a deep nostalgia and appreciation for the beautiful countryside of the Midwest. My inspiration now comes from the birds that visit my feeder and the flowers that pop up in my yard.
Today, my time is dedicated to freelancing and creating. I am working toward a bigger goal of becoming a surface pattern designer and licensing my art around the world.
